Musicine began with the love of vinyl, but vinyl has always been about more than the record itself. Behind every record is an artist, a creative idea, a story and someone who poured a part of themselves into making that music.
We created this space because we want to put a spotlight on those artists. There is so much incredible music being created around the world, especially South Africa that can easily pass us by. Musicine Spotlight is a little corner of the world where we can stop, listen, explore and share the artists and music that catch our attention.
Because Musicine is built around vinyl, we love putting a spotlight to artists who have taken the extra step of bringing their music into the physical world. Being able to hold an album, put it on a turntable and experience it away from a screen feels special to us.

BEATMOCHINI is a prolific South African music producer, sound engineer, and sonic architect bred in Atteridgeville, Pretoria.

What is this album about?
I AM ALSO HUMAN, TOO is about the human experience — identity, vulnerability, contradiction, growth and the things that make us human in an increasingly technological world.
Why this specific genre?
Because hip-hop and it’s extended musical language give me the freedom to blend everything I’ve absorbed over the years. It allows me to experiment while still keeping the music rooted in rhythm, soul and groove.
Why does this album exist?
Because I needed to make something that reflects where I am now — not just as a producer, but as a human being. It’s a statement that beneath all the technology, expectations and labels, I am also human, too.
Of all the forms of expression you could have chosen, why music?
Music has always been the language that makes the most sense to me. I can say things through sound, rhythm and emotion that words alone sometimes can't express.
